The modern tactical waist belt (taking the Aerial Forces III as an example) is a modular system, primarily composed of an inner waist belt, a rigid outer waist belt, the MOLLE system, padding, and quick-release clips.

The outer waist belt buckle uses a more robust snake buckle and is equipped with a laser-cut MOLLE system. The MOLLE system uses a more durable and elastic Hypalon material, with webbing on both sides for securing the outer waist belt. The Aerial Forces III is narrower and thinner than its predecessor to improve heat dissipation and comfort.

The padding features a modular design, offering multiple options such as a lightweight summer version and a warm winter version. Quick-release clips secure the inner waist belt to the waist belt; a set typically includes three clips to ensure the waist belt remains stable and doesn't wobble.

The overall design uses a "2+N" modular approach, allowing for free disassembly and assembly of each part, enabling users to flexibly configure it according to mission, weather, and other needs.
