A tactical belt not only lets you unbuckle your belt in a second to go to the bathroom, giving you a head start, but it also effectively supports the weight of your expansion pack and allows you to hang a bunch of outdoor gear. The tactical belt I bought is made of 1000D nylon, which is dense and very durable.
Recently, Arc'teryx and Decathlon's "miracle pants" have been very popular. Not only these two brands, but most outdoor brands offer similar waterproof and windproof pants. Some people who like functional and outdoor styles might want to buy them. However, be aware that many waterproof pants, including some "miracle pants," don't even have waist loops or pockets. Waist loops are the loops on the pants for threading a belt. In this case, a tactical belt serves multiple purposes: it matches the overall look, acts as a belt to prevent the pants from sagging, and can also be used as a weight-bearing strap when paired with a tactical waist pack to store your phone and cards.
However, pay close attention to the size of the belt buckles. Belt widths are generally 38mm and 25mm. A 38mm belt has two buckles that are 50mm wide, which won't fit into the waist loops of most pants, unless it's tactical pants or some special types of pants. Figure 9 shows the process of putting this belt through regular pants, which is very cumbersome. Unless you only use it on one pair of pants, changing pants will take at least a minute.
Of course, I also found one with a buckle that's 50mm on one end and 25mm on the other, so it can be used like a normal belt. Figures 1 to 6 show the type I bought.
